Activity Report for 2022-2023
The past year has been very prolific in activities, especially in terms of exhibitions. I was able to find new venues to hold solo shows at and held my first solo exhibition at the Artists House in my city, which had very large exposure. Additionally, I participated in quite a few group exhibitions and made connections with new curators with whom I’m hoping to continue collaborating in the future, both as an individual artist representing the MFPA and as a group together with my fellow MFPA artists.
I have conducted 15 lectures in the past year. I’ve spoken to a variety of audiences including elementary and middle school students, adults, people with disabilities and elderly people. I have told them all about the association, its history, what it means to be a mouth painter and, obviously, our products and how they can be purchased.
On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which was celebrated last December, I had the honor of being a guest at the Ministry of Economy and Industry in Jerusalem, Israel. As part of my visit, I presented my art exhibition, "Hidden Door", which is based on my latest children's book of the same name, published by the VDMFK. I explained to the ministry’s employees about the VDMFK and told them all about how I became a mouth painter. During the visit, I had the opportunity of speaking with the Minister of Economy, Mrs. Orna Barbivai, as well as the Commissioner of the Israeli Civil Service, Prof. Daniel Hershkowitz, the General Director of the Ministry of Economy, the VP of Human Resources and those responsible for occupational diversity and equal rights for people with disabilities.
One of my goals for 2023 is to try and paint larger paintings. I have already started painting a bit bigger in 2022, however, you will be seeing relatively bigger ones next year (I’m working on those as I’m writing these words).
Lastly, I’m very excited to tell that I have started working on a new children’s book. The story is almost complete, but there’s still a long way to go with painting the illustrations. I’m hoping to have everything ready for publication by the MFPA sometime in 2025. I’m happy my current children’s books are successful and enjoying working on the new book’s illustrations side by side with fine art paintings and motives that I paint for the association.

A poem and illustration from my children's book, "Hiddn Door", has been published in a literature & poetry monthly journal named "Motive". The illustration has been selected to be on the front page of the issue! Of course the VDMFK received credit and it was mentioned that the illustration was painted by mouth.
